They were taken to tighten the glasses. Works like a charm and is definitely comfortable. The tool itself is durable and bolted tight, eliminating the loss of parts. The only part I'm worried about, if at all, is the keychain itself as it's really light. I don't know much about metals, but the good thing is that the o-rings don't seem to break that easily. I'm hoping they could tinker a bit as I'm very clumsy with my keys and tend to lose things unless they're built reasonably solidly. If I see any weaknesses in durability I will update this review.
