Update from 2/2/19: The pillow was washed a second time and fell apart (see photo). Also, I contacted the company to see if the heating pad could be used by their other products (which I had no problem with) and was told it could be used. When I responded to see if the rep replied that she was wrong that there is a 'special' pad that can be used for the heated capsule and this heating pad should NOT be used if you don't have them heated version like the pads buy different. It's a lot bigger than I expected (my fault for not measuring), the hard shell (removable pillow inside) and heating pad from the other K+H pet bed don't seem to work properly with this product. I have 3 K+H beds that only heat when there is a cat in them. I took a heating pad from one and put it in a "sleeve" under the pillow and found that it stays warm even when there are no animals in it, also there are (what appears to be) "bulges" of rubber or plastic underneath, the pillow I care for melts or ignites. Would return but it cost over $8 to send back so keep hoping cats will use it even without heat. Damn. We wanted the kittens to have a covered heated cat bed :(
