Review on Audio Technica AT LH13H Universal Mount Headshell by Bob Candfield

Revainrating 2 out of 5

High-quality cartridge

This case appears to be very well built and of good quality. It looks particularly good with the cartridges of the OC9 series, as the front of the cartridge and the housing are perfectly matched. It appears to be designed for newer OC9 cartridges with built in threads, but will also work on older models (and indeed any cartridge with a ½" mount). The connectors on the included cables easily attach to the pins on my OC9. I paid $59 for this conch on sale which seemed reasonable to me. $89 seems a little expensive, but it feels like an $89 product. It includes a small Allen key that allows you to adjust both the standoff and azimuth screws. It's nice to be able to adjust the range without having to worry about the cartridge rotating in any direction in the shell when you tighten the screws like you would with a traditional shell.

Pros
  • Equipped with oxygen-free copper wires (oxygen-free copper); Adjustable cylinder allows for fine adjustment of azimuth and deviation
Cons
  • Defects
