Reliable and aesthetic

Follow instructions and clean before use. Then I filled it to the max, brought it to a boil and discarded it 3 times. Then I tested the water for taste. It was like water. There is no foreign taste. It's been great for the few months I've been using it. I bought this appliance because I didn't want a kettle with a lot of power. My last teapot was from a different manufacturer and design. It had a lid at the top that you removed to fill the kettle and the carrying handle that arched over that lid. It hurt when the contents were hot. Also, if the lid wasn't screwed on tightly, it could fly off when water was poured, causing the steam to burn your hand. Finally, the leak was due to a switch that was installed on the underside. The Ovente kettle has none of these problems. A full kettle boils in 9.5 minutes, which suits me perfectly. The top works well so far and my hand is safe from any steam when open. A few things that could be improved: (1) The strainer in the spout is not removable. I liked this feature on my last kettle because it was easy to clean. It can't be removed in Ovente, but I'm not sure if that matters much anymore. (2) The top of the handle inside will become very warm (maybe hot) when a full pot of boiling water is gradually poured into it. (3) When cooking, steam escapes from the spout. This was not the case with my last teapot, presumably due to the design of the strainer. Steam escaping is a problem when the kettle is under a low cupboard or other object like mine. In general, we like the kettle, we recommend it.
