My cable goes to the house in the basement. Our ground floor is decorated with concrete, also above the basement. The concrete floor makes it impossible to run an Ethernet cable from the basement to the first floor. I chose a wireless mesh system. My first candidates were Orbi and Velop. What I initially didn't like about the Amplifi system was that the remote WiFi plug-ins didn't have Ethernet jacks. Then I read that you can use an Amplifi router as a mesh point with 4 ethernet ports. So I bought two of these, one as a router and the other as a mesh point. It was almost $100 cheaper than my previous candidates. Setup was easy with a little help from Amplifi's online chat. I get all the internet speed I'm paying for on both floors. The Wi-Fi signal is distributed throughout my 3,500-square-foot main floor, and I can always add a mesh-only Wi-Fi point if needed. I should mention that Ethernet transport is supported, although I haven't been able to use it. I haven't had enough time to comment on the reliability, but I'm quite satisfied so far.
