Pixel Tactics is a fascinating game. It's similar to games like Magic the Gathering and Pokemon, where each of your cards has a different power, but instead of a single ability, each card can be used in a variety of ways depending on where you place them in a 3x3 battle formation. It's not like this. It's actually a war game, instead you try to find cool combinations of your units' powers to destroy your opponent's stuff in spectacular ways. This game has an incredible number of possible combinations despite only having two identical 25-card decks. This makes the game more tactical than strategic as almost any plan you make will be outdated by the next turn, but the box says "Pixel Tactics" not "Pixel Strategy". very small print, which means that some players quickly reach for reading glasses. Even if you're not already familiar with complex text-heavy card games like Magic the Gathering, the sheer volume of text and card interactions can be a little intimidating. I've played many complex card games over the years, so picking this one was a no-brainer.
