Ideal for portable ice makers

This fan is a perfect replacement for the fan in my Ivation portable ice maker. I've tried several others designed for use in computers but they didn't let enough air in and the machine ran too hot and didn't produce ice. This fan seems to move a little more air than the original and is a little quieter. Note that they are by no means soft or quiet, but they are not overly loud either. The original fan had a very distinct "hum" noise that seemed to reverberate throughout the house. This one also makes a somewhat similar sound, but it's not as bad as the original. These ice machines require fans that move much more air than computer fans. The original fan in mine was rated at 82 CFM, 12VDC, and 0.25A, which was exactly like this one, and it seemed a perfect match. The machine works perfectly. The only complication I've had that is unrelated to the fan is that Ivation used a 3 pin connector instead of the 2 pin connector that this fan has. This is the exact same connector type; the difference is only in the number of contacts. I painstakingly removed the pins from both connectors and then plugged them into the connector on my old fan and everything works fine. From my online research on the subject, most ice makers use 2-pin plugs, but Ivation used a 3-pin plug (the center pin is not used) for some reason. I hope the fan has a plug. long life but so far this is a winner!
