Sellers generally have a lot of bad cars. Lots of rusty blades or used returns that have not been cleaned to factory specs before resale. I got mine from BoxBeauty through Revain and it was brand new. I can say this because I recently received Pro Alloy Fade direct from Andis and it arrived in the same condition. The blade has been well oiled and protected by a black scabbard, the string has been wrapped and tied, and the guards come in a sealed plastic bag. The bets are that the seller included updated protective covers in the kit. The picture of the box shows that blades 0-8 are included. The original version of these shields had 0 and 1 blades that were too close in size, rendering the 0 unusable. This seller has included an updated set that not only fixes the sizing issue but also includes 1/2 guard and 1 1/2 guard to bridge the gap between 1 and 2. I am not a professional barber. I cut my own hair and my brother does it from time to time and a random friend. So consider my review. The machine itself is very nice. This is quite a big upgrade from the pan motor based Speedmaster II that I have used before. The magnet motor feels strong when you turn on the machine. This gives a nice "click" and lets you know it's ready to use. The machine is relatively quiet and doesn't vibrate much, probably because the engine speed is 7200 rpm, in contrast to flagship models, which run at 14,000 rpm. The lower speed results in a relatively cool cut. All cars get hot over time, but this one (and the fade version with the same engine) only gets really hot, not scalding. However, I bought a cooling spray and extra oil to keep it running for as long as possible. The included protection is pretty good. They are not as good as the purple dual magnet protectors but not suitable for this machine due to the spacing between the bolts. If your kit comes with an upgraded set of guards then you really don't need to buy purple single magnet guards unless you like the magnet grip or you already have them. It's very nice to have these between Guards 1/2 and 1 1/2. Skilled barbers don't need them, but for self-tapping screws like me, it's good to have safety nets. The blade is sharp and leaves no gaps. My kit was dead and didn't even need to be adjusted. (My Andis Pro Alloy Fade had to be adjusted to get it straight and that was done directly by Andis!) It has good leverage travel. However, the lever itself is plastic so it can break/wear out over time. This happened to my old Speedmaster and I just replaced it. The combed portion of the blade feels textured rather than polished like most blades I've had. The bolts are spaced farther apart than the flagship models, so you will NOT be able to mount these blades on this machine. Also, you can't use purple shields with dual magnets. A magnet just fits perfectly. It is also very easy to make a null game with them. I emailed Andis about an issue I had with the T-Bar and they replied that they would fix it immediately or send me a new one. They seem to be honoring their guarantee. Food for thought if you're worried about machine support.
