If you're replacing a Toyota front axle or CV boot, you'll need one of these to complete the job. The original nut is a 30mm 12-point nut that is bolted to the axle, meaning you will either need to pry open the curved part of the bead or cut the curved part off with a Dremel tool. They sell a special tool to raise the edge on the rack, but if you have small punches or chisels you can probably use them. Unless you are replacing the axle and are concerned about damaging the threads, do not remove the nut without lifting the deformed shoulder. The only downside to this mom is that she needs a different head size to fit. If you have a 1 1/4" or 32mm socket then you're good to go. I had to buy a 30mm socket to remove the original nut as the impact socket can't be anything other than a socket.
