Review on Leatt Airflex Pro Knee Guards-Black-L: Ultimate Protection and Flexibility for Extreme Sports by Patrick Cox

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best lightweight knee brace. Is always?

I may have gone a little crazy and tried about 10 different knee pads and these were probably the ones I was least worried about when I first started looking, but they ended up being the most comfortable knee pads from all. She. After riding a few hundred miles in them I can say these are the best pads I have ever had and I happily reach for them on every ride (except DH/resort ride days or shuttle laps). They breathe very well when you're going downhill and are very comfortable to pedal without irritating or chafing. I have tried others. POC Joint VPD (upgraded padding, not so comfortable, too expensive), Dakine Slayer (for me the new 2020 model is not as good as the old ones), Troy Lee Stage (great overlays, didn't like the high knee hip feel on the sleeve), Troy Lee Raid (fits well), Ion K Pact (totally different level of protection but not as comfortable), Sweet Protection (seriously awesome but warm), Scott Soldier 2 (not bad but not my favorite)

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Crumpled
