Bought these boots for my son for the second year running. He goes to kindergarten, which means he's out in Iowa in the winter. I trust they will keep him warm. If you're trying to decide between these and the ones with handles, I would go with these. We also had models with handles and they are much shorter. Also, the big holes let too much cold through if the socks slip off at all. If you live in a very cold climate that requires wool socks, buy one size up.
