The Shark brand is HEPA certified although this one says it is but I don't believe it. I've never seen dust come out when using the Shark brand, with them I see dust flying everywhere. I have 2 dogs and a cat so I have to vacuum all the time. I hate vacuuming with these filters because I have to shower myself after vacuuming because the dust flies out the front and flies all over the place. I am waiting for Shark brand filters after ordering on their website.
