Review on Portable Electric Stove 800W Countertop Hot Plate 6.7" - Multi-Use Home Coffee, Tea, and Water Heater by Jeff Shapiro

I really liked this product. It was the right size, looked good on my counter with other white appliances, and worked great. It heats up quickly and I've had no trouble using it with an electric kettle. Unfortunately, what I didn't know is that it isn't recommended for use with cookware larger than the size of the burner. When used with an 8" pan, the plastic around the burner melted causing irreparable damage. The device has labeling and a small instruction manual, but it was all in Chinese, so if there was a warning label I couldn't translate it. I figured it was easy enough with a nob and only two settings, I went ahead and used it. My pan was stuck to the melting plastic and the smoke alarm went off, so I quickly unplugged it and contacted the seller. I received a quick response explaining that it was only intended for cookware smaller than the burner size and was offered a replacement but as it could not serve the purpose I need it for, I asked for a refund instead. that they have provided. More importantly, they assured me they would update the list to reflect this precaution. It's great customer service and support that earned them 5 stars in my opinion, but I had to take one off because I wanted them to work with any size pot or pan. Conclusion: If you are looking for a kettle or a small pot burner, this item is great and I would recommend it. Remember to center it on the burner. Any other use would probably be better with something else.
