Review on Moisture Conditioner Ea Curly Products Oil Provides by Jessica Ness

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product but there are some things you need to know first.

After using this product for a while and reading other reviews from Revain, I feel there is important information that people should know before purchasing this set.1. This is a sulfate free product. Sulfates give other shampoos their rich lather. So if you're expecting it to lather like a sulfate shampoo, you'll be disappointed. I find it lathers a lot better than other sulfate-free products I've used. Sulfates are also used in shampoos to remove silicones - silicones don't wash out with plain water and require a harsher cleanser that's also harsher on your hair. Neither shampoo nor conditioner contain silicones, but when other styling products contain silicones, your hair does not feel completely clean after shampooing. Be sure to check other products for silicones and either replace them with ones that don't, or have a clarifying shampoo on hand to use every few washes to prevent buildup. THIS INCLUDES PRODUCTS LIKE COCONUT OIL, SHEA BUTTER, PROTEIN TREATMENTS ETC. all this leads to accumulation! If you use them you need to make sure you have a clarifying shampoo.2. this is for curly hair. If your hair is fine, slightly wavy or straight these products will feel very heavy on your hair as they are designed for curly hair which needs a lot more moisture than straight hair. I would not recommend this product for people with fine or frizzy hair. If your hair is curly, this product will provide the moisture your hair needs to create smooth, defined curls. Both shampoo and conditioner are compatible with Curly Girl/Guy.3. other reviewers commented positively or negatively on the scent - it has a musky scent rather than perfumed or floral, with a sweet undertone. To me it smells great, except for the conditioner, which smells very different than the shampoo or curl milk the line also makes. I don't find this too worrisome as I apply curl milk after washing to keep the scent on my hair. However, you may feel differently and this product is sold in most pharmacies and grocery stores, so I would personally test the smell before buying. If you're familiar with coconut milk and hibiscus curl milk from this line, the shampoo smells almost exactly the same. my hair is a little thin and is around a 3A (multiracial) - I really liked this shampoo and conditioner set to give my hair volume and defined curls. It's a bit tricky as my hair is fine, but it doesn't matter and the result is worth it. In summary, this product is NOT FOR EVERYONE and if you're looking to make the switch to natural sulfate-free hair care, you need to be mindful of every product you use, not just your shampoo and conditioner. otherwise, the results may not be what you expect.
