They definitely live up to expectations. The material is a bit stiff and not as tight as I would like. By stiff I mean the material is almost like wearing a wetsuit. It's not as noticeable in freestyle, but I do feel some resistance in the breaststroke. I swim over a mile every day on my lunch break. Although this is a small drag, it is noticeable when swimming long distances. I've been alternating this pair with a pair of Pro LT mufflers for a while. Now I only wear the Pro LT and the Quark only on long sea voyages. We hope that the slightly thicker material will be more resistant to salt water and offer a little more thermal protection when sailing in cold currents.
