My baby spits and drools a lot. So it goes without saying that I use LOTS of burp cloths in a day. They are not very absorbent and incredibly thin. When I use it over my shoulder to burp my baby, I always find that all the liquid has seeped through the thin fabric and onto my shirt. This does not apply to flannel rejects. In general, they are nice and soft for children's skin, but not worth the money. If you need something absorbent I don't recommend this.
