When I bought this toaster I was almost ready to give it 5 stars because it really is red. I am easy to please. Unfortunately though. I've used it a few times and it's starting to pick up my anger. It has two buttons that you have to put on your reading glasses to see which is which. One is pressed if it's a bagel and the other says it's frozen. But what the heck!?! They both push in 16 inches and come out 16 inches at the same time. There's no light, bell, or anything else that really indicates if it's on or off, on or off. Any. And the toast will appear level with the top of the toaster. As for the lift lever. You need two hands. Because you pick it up and let it go, and then you put it down again.
