I've never heard of this in my life, although I've hung pictures on walls for years. They work great! The small level included in this set is great too. I'm just buying a second set to finish my recordings. CONS: - The big ones are damn BIG. I put one on an 11 x 17 frame and due to the thickness of 1 the corner of the frame sticks out of the wall more than the rest. It's still flat and straight but from side profile the frames look a little wobbly. However, I rarely spend hours looking at my wall's profile, so it's tolerable. - Hairpins! I unknowingly tried to slide the bolt behind the drywall and the tip bent straight down rendering that anchor point useless. Make sure you only push drywall. PROS: - Once you wind them up a little, they work really well! I can finally dust off my frames and close the side doors without messing up my entire gallery wall. The liability is just right for me. You don't need a razor blade or industrial cleaners to remove them from the frame and reposition them if necessary. I consider this a PLUS for this 3M product.
