It didn't work in the network and cable testers

I put in a new 9V battery, plugged the ethernet cable into the transmitter and receiver and only one LED blinked. I cycled it multiple times and finally scanned all 8 wires. Since many of my cables are in different parts of the building, running back and forth to scan is unacceptable. I order better.
