This product is unusable as received! It seems to me that the top and bottom halves should be connected - THEY DON'T CONNECT! If you squeeze the two halves together and try to fill the rounded cavities with water, they will fly apart and water will seep everywhere. I ended up clamping the four sides together and then filling in the voids. After freezing, I remove the clamps and easily remove individual scoops of ice cream. There is a distinct raised ring around the ball where the two halves of the cavity meet, but that's not a problem.
