I bought these for my 4 year old son who seems obsessed with patterns and colours. I thought he would like to make his own patterns and follow the maps to make designs. I gave them to him when he got sick home from daycare one day and they were an instant hit! The jars they come in make a beautiful presentation and are great for storing pieces. The wooden forms are pleasant to the touch and are actually quite large. They don't have the weird chemical smell that some other sample blocks and painted wooden toys had. there is already a scratch on it. In any case, I am very happy with this purchase, as is my son!
