Review on 🔑 Lexus ES330 LS430 SC430 Car Key Fob Keyless Entry Remote (HYQ12BBT, 1511A-12BBT) - Set of 2 by Brandon Mcvey

I bought these keys to replace my father in law's lost 2001 Lexus LS430 and they didn't work. If you have a 2001-2003 LS 430 you will want to buy a HYQ12BBK, NOT a HYQ12BBT. The key fob itself is made of plastic which appears to be lighter than the factory OEM. They don't feel cheap, which is where I think durability is, but they definitely don't carry the same weight as the original. Not necessarily a bad thing, just different. The description of the item is also wrong, stating that you need to go to a dealer or a locksmith to program it. All 2001-2003 LS430 models come with switch programming if you have a working master key. (Unlike the valet key which is just a key and doesn't have a remote with buttons.) All you have to do is ask a locksmith to cut the keys (30 x 2 from my locksmith) and you can program it yourself. Self-programming instructions can be found in Volume 2 of the Lexus Service Manual, pages BE-101 and BE-199, and are widely available on the Internet discussion forums and Youtube with a simple search. The only time you will need to go to the dealership for this Lexus generation is if you have lost ALL your keys and need to make a new key by providing your VIN number. Despite this, there are various providers (including online retailers and independent locksmiths) willing to offer these services at a discount.
