A cheap option if your mouth fits on the tray.

Starlite Smile Whitening Light has good and bad sides. Good. This is the price. I recently saw a similar device in my dental office that seemed indistinguishable from a Starlite Smile light. They sold a mouthpiece and rechargeable power pack for $400. Talk about markups! So for the price it was worth a try. When you plug it in, the light will be bright and the right color (wavelength) to activate the peroxide bleach. Starlite sells bleach, but I decided to buy mine from a third party on Amazon as well. There are many opportunities. Starlite is slightly more expensive compared to other bleach suppliers. Cons: iPhone adapter doesn't work. I tried this on two different iPhones and neither of them was able to turn on the light. I can't speak for an Android adapter. The USB adapter worked as expected and this allows me to use the mouthpiece. The most disappointing aspect of this device is that the mouth cup is small, at least for a grown man. And there doesn't seem to be a way to shape the hard part of the mouthpiece to fit better. The small size makes the mouthpiece/spoon uncomfortable and is likely to reduce the effectiveness of a whitening (the whitening agent needs to make good contact with the surface of each tooth).

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
