This seemed like a great idea for our child and worked well for a while. She hasn't put things in her mouth yet, but she's explored them or watched us shake them. They definitely held their attention with noise and high contrast tapes. However, we ended up putting her away or watching her closely after she started putting things in her mouth. The bells bother me the most. They are not attached very securely and pose a choking/choking hazard. My older toddler loves them and uses them when he dances/sings. They have a pleasant soft ringing, not too loud. The last few weeks of daily use, they have proven themselves very well. In general a good product. Use your own judgment when giving to younger children.
