Skiwolf's info on modifying the bottom cover with metal snips helped me a lot

If Skiwulf hadn't mentioned an easy repair I might not have bought this item. The photos in her post were also very helpful. It is still connected to the laptop well. If I have time I will sand down the area I cut so there are no jagged edges, but this isn't really necessary as the area is so small and the way I use and carry my laptop, not likely to get caught on anything - anything or bite into my skin or clothing. Mods are really fun.
