An excellent offer with a seal of approval!

Great deal and will serve you for many years. It was difficult for me to decide whether to go with fiberglass or graphite. It turns out that I used to install an undersized diameter graphite gasket. So after 2 weeks I got it. When I removed the graphite gasket to change it, it fell apart too easily when pulled. He was only a few weeks old. They're probably made that way, but I didn't like it. Fiberglass doesn't do that. Here are some tips as this is my first year: 1.) Don't wet the rope/mist as some videos suggested. There's no need for it (I've done it both ways) and found it best to let it dry. 2.) Lay the door on the ground with a suitable gasket (an old towel underneath) and use the spoked wheel attached to your drill press. You will be amazed how he gets 99%. So much easier! Be careful with painted surfaces, if any! DO NOT lift this the spoked wheel could slip and catch on the towel and the door could fall off and yes it happened to me! Luckily no damage. Use the chisel/screwdriver to get the remaining corners. 3.) Clean with a damp cloth and water. Compressed air is also good at first. Dry landing rope. Do a little more than enough. Make sure that the rope is "relaxed" in the groove, especially in the corners. 4.) Put sealing cement (I used black Rutland) in the groove. Take a tube with a caulking gun, it's easier. Apply with your finger. The groove must not be more than 1/2 full. Water is good because it is soluble in water. 5.) Insert rope, cut off excess rope with sharp scissors or knife and attach the door. Close the door for 2 minutes. It's getting harder for me. Open the door and remove everything unnecessary. Be careful not to place it over the rope where it will seal. It can dry out and pull out the seal. It's disgusting. If it's on the fireplace itself, take it off! 6.) Close the door and come back in an hour. You should still be able to get the excess back in, if there is any it will be a bit pliable. 7.) Make a fire, don't overheat it, 500 degrees or so.
