Before that, I had an Xbox 360. Therefore, the choice between a curling iron and a juan was not easy. Logically, Juan was the favorite. On the one hand, the heredity of the gaming profile and extended TV functionality and the design you like, on the other hand, the better quality of games and more powerful hardware for PS4. The second won. Another additional reason "for PS4" were rumors about the development of a Slim version without a Bluray drive.
Pros
- - The most powerful hardware and less consumption of system resources by the operating system than the competitor. - Multiplatform looks better than the competitor. - A good situation with exclusives and excellent prospects with indie developers (judging by the number of announcements for 2022). - Convenient and sophisticated joystick (one speaker when playing GTA V is worth something). - In the future, the appearance in 2022 of the Playstation Now streaming service (games from PS1/PS2/PS3 to PS4).
Cons
- - The battery of the joystick is a disaster, as are peeling sticks, and a short USB cable. - Unstable operation of PSN. Either they hack, then they fall, then there are problems with credit cards, and the solution from technical support is almost always: "wait 3-5 days - it will be unlocked / rise / etc." By the way, finding their contacts on the site is another challenge. - (Subjectively) Appearance and the presence of glossy plastic in the design - a dust collector. I don’t know why, but I like the look of the competitor in the form of an old VCR better, although there is a dust collector there too. - (Subjectively) Terrible set-top box menu (non-switchable "events", trash not removed from the main menu like share factory, the playroom, etc.). - The almost complete absence of TV Services in 2022 and the lack of video playback support, including MKV. The competitor is better with this. Much better.
