They are not designed for outdoor use unless you can tie them (even when rolled up) in strong winds. I had the hooks ripped off and they were 1/4 down. I couldn't fold them all the way up because they don't have a drawstring. Brackets are useless and inconvenient as my blinds are 8ft wide each and hang 10ft in the air. PVC fins have the same consistency as plastic drinking straws. They bend and break VERY EASILY. They would be good INSIDE a screened porch or inside a house. They look good and the price was great. Clamps are a major design flaw. I stayed with them when they refused to return. Please exchange immediately upon receipt. It was immediately clear to me that we needed a cable. (They were from others). I have one that is 6ft wide and I can tie it to a metal railing with rope (clips are useless). This stays down, tied to the railing, and has so far withstood winds of 30mph.
