I upgraded my range to a double wall oven and needed a hob. It was way cheaper than pretty much every other 30 inch induction cooktop I could find. It was even cheaper than some standard electric hobs! The INSTALLATION required a little work. An oven means you have to add your own 40A circuit. This was quite expensive and required a lot of extra repair work (drywall, running an outlet, etc.) If you already have a hob - good for you! The rest of us have to face additional costs. Cutting the counter was so scary! I've never done that. I was told to use a 140 tooth circular saw but have found a jigsaw works much better and there are plenty of bits with tons of teeth. I also had to cut out some of the inside of the case as it was just over 29 inches wide. This would not work in a standard 30 inch case. There was ample room after that (about a quarter to a half inch on all sides) so the vents were clear. The vents also come from the bottom and side, which helps. But it's not really hot there. I was about to take the drawers out but so far I've checked the gap and heat and it works with them. Of course you have to follow the instructions. What works for me may not work for you, and overheating is a big problem. USE is excellent! I used a fridge magnet to see which of my pots and pans would work. I ended up having to get rid of about half of mine. But the rest is excellent. I let it boil briefly - I'll try to post a video - and it boiled after about 3 minutes. Cooking is easy when you do this jar several times. Looks very good! Very soft. It was easy for me to clean but my old stove had a glass top and I was used to it. All in all, it took a bit of work and extra expense to do a clean install. But I'm very happy with the results.
