Received a rubber/cork turntable mat today. Although it is as described, increasing the height of the album raised the hand too much. Because of this, the hand hovered too easily, exacerbating the plane's imperfections caused by the album's rotation. In other words, with the hand raised, the balance was such that it exaggerated imperfections or small distortions in the album, causing the sound to shake.
