Got this for my 4 year old nephew. He's a skinny kid and can barely fit in. The manufacturer offers from 18 months to 8 years. An 8 year old child is unlikely to fit in there. Be careful when placing a small child in the seat. My other nephew is 4 months old and my sister put him in to take pictures but she had to hold on to the front because it is not balanced. If they don't sit perfectly still, they may fall forward or sideways. I've been thinking about returning it but my sister wants it so my 4 month old nephew can eventually use it when he's older. All in all, she said, it was a nice chair.
