Review on Swanson T0108 Square Layout Tool by Alexander Craner

I've been using these Swanson squares for longer than I can remember. I ordered another 12" as a backup and the good thing is that it was sturdy and boxy. The bad side was that the surface finish was terrible and the detent marks were very difficult to read. All my previous squares had black paint in the Snap marks to make reading easier, the one I received was unpainted and with very poor surface finish on both sides What happened I hope this isn't another cost saving measure as I will of course be looking for another square .
