I bought 2 of these for my eldest nieces for Christmas. They showed up this morning and I immediately ordered a 3rd for myself. I don't think it will work as a "personal item" on flights but that may depend on how it's packed. That's a little disappointing though as my oldest niece will be graduating soon and I wanted her to have a nice travel bag for flights. However, it still seems to be a sturdy bag with a great amount of storage space, perfect as a "weekender" or carry on. I'm buying matching toiletry bags to go w/ them.
