Since Nikon recently updated their XQD cameras to support CFExpress cards, I need a card reader to take advantage of the potential for faster card-to-computer transfer speeds. This one seemed just right. In the beginning I had some problems. My first image transfer through Lightroom was clunky and slow. The test software didn't even run. I've tried a few things to no avail. Finally, I replaced the included USB-C to USB-A cable with a better quality one I had and voila! The tests went well. While the serial transfer rate of 250-400MB/s was well below the theoretical 1200-1700MB/s that my SanDisk Extreme Pro card can achieve, it was still about twice as fast as my Lexar 1400x XQD. Map. I just wish I had a faster XQD card to compare. With the same hardware, my SanDisk Extreme Pro reader gets 960MB/s reading and 360MB/s writing. Such a mediocre transfer speed and poor quality cables. There's a better choice if you don't care more about price than performance.
