About a month ago we bought ourselves a small turtle, namely a water red-eared turtle. They created all the conditions for a good existence for their pet, and of course the question arose of how to properly feed it. The pet store recommended that we purchase a balanced food for aquatic turtles labeled Baby, which contains many of the nutrients necessary for the growth and development of a small turtle. I know the Tetra company, because I bought dry food for my aquarium fish from this manufacturer, but I’m buying for a turtle for the first time. I know that the feed of this company is of high quality and has proven itself well. At least our aquarium fish eat Tetra food very well, so I bought food for the turtle without hesitation. The jar is small in size, there is a foil protection with the company logo. The granules are small, just right for small turtles. For large turtles, the granules are much larger, I saw them in a pet store, they were even sold by weight. When we tried to feed our turtle with this food, we were very upset. Even this size of granules was large for our turtle and she completely refused to eat it. We tried to break the pellets into several pieces, then the turtle was able to swallow the food, but after trying it, it immediately spat it out. In general, only after a week the turtle is more or less accustomed to this food, but eats it reluctantly. And she willingly eats the fish that I buy for her in the store. I take low-fat varieties of fish, cut them into small pieces and the turtle swallows them with great pleasure. I will recommend this food, maybe our turtle is very picky, but I don’t know if I will buy it again. And this is a photo of our little turtle. So she swims in the aquarium. And this is how she warms herself on the island, which we ourselves made for her.
