I have an old Sony NWZS544 that I almost beat to death and I bought this to replace it (I thought it was an upgrade). No! This is a cheap plastic toy comparable to the lowest quality Chinese clones. In fact, it's made in China (which doesn't necessarily mean that all well-known Chinese brands are bad, but it's widely considered low-budget and low-quality). Transfer software is terrible. It cannot import a playlist from WMP, although it is clearly stated on their web that it can. The transfer software is free generic software with an ugly graphical interface that is cumbersome and difficult to learn. The device's viewing window is tiny (like the entire device), blurry, and just plain ugly and toy-like. Its custom playback capabilities are even more rigorous and spartan than my old NWZS544. The battered NWZS544 I have (which still works) revolves around this latest model. It's made of aluminum and has miniature built-in speakers, works flawlessly with WMP, and also has proprietary broadcasting software that, while relatively spartan, is efficient and always does what it does, and does it well. Sony needs to make quality products again. It's not worth the price. Any other cheaper replica will be a match for this portable music player in every respect.
