I actually bought this to use as a toilet night light so I don't have to turn on a big light in the middle of the night. Since I have two of these, I installed another one in my workshop bathroom (for no reason). I leave them in motion-activated mode and they only turn on when you approach the toilet. and apparently the light never comes on when the lid is down but stays on as soon as the lid is up. In this case, they work great. As long as you don't slam the lid the magnet does a great job of keeping the light on the lid. But if you're worried about light leaking in, I think you can attach it with 3M double-sided tape and remove the magnetic metal plate. After leaving them in motion-activated mode, I haven't had to charge them since I installed them. a month and a half ago. I will buy more of these. These are very versatile lights.
