The thread pitch is not the same as the standard F-type, so it only winds about 2 turns, so the tip does not connect either. The case is made of very fragile and weak metal. It's a tight fit too, which is why the two flanges came loose when first inserted into the VCR. I'm just glad it didn't damage my old VCR.
