You must completely and carefully disassemble, desolder and resolder the components on the circuit board to install the sensor part yourself. Getting it wrong can ruin the controller motherboard, among other things. Joystick caps can be installed over existing sensors if you're ok and they offer more grip than the original. They are clear, not black, and the rubber wears out much quicker than the original caps. TL; DR I would recommend that you take them to a professional to have them installed if you don't already have a soldering iron and don't know what to use to remove them. Lot. these are functional joysticks that wear out quickly but offer more grip.
