It doesn't look like a towel I've used before but it's good! Once you get over how different it is from your expectations, you will see all of its benefits. It's so soft, so light, so versatile. It's also huge, 39" x 73" (which is over a meter by over six feet, so pretty big). I wrapped it twice around me and kind of buried myself in it. It's 100% cotton, handmade in Turkey and mine was in beautiful summer colors - purple, coral and velvet. My mom has a turkish towel that is a bit thicker than this one but I love it. It is so thin that it can be used as a shawl or as a sofa blanket. It really has that soft, homey feel, just like clothes. This towel is really well made. You never really know what you're getting when you shop online, and often you want to see, feel, and test the things you're buying. But it's really beautiful. The fabric is of good quality, the tassels at the ends are very pretty and sewn well. You have to put up with the fact that while it doesn't feel like terry cloth like the towels you've used in the past, it's soft and prefers to be thin in the summer. it's harder This will definitely make a great beach towel to lie on. It gets softer the more you wash it and is easy to wash. I'm concerned that the tassels will unravel a bit, but even if they do, the fabric itself is strong and the towel should last a long time.
