I bought this to locate dried cat urine on my carpet that I can smell but couldn't find with my other (395NM) UV light. This one works better on my light colored carpet, and you can often use it to locate spots with the lights still on.The size of the illuminated area is somewhat small, but I was expecting as much with one LED. The beam size isn't adjustable, but the light is bright enough that you can hold it far away to light up a bigger area. However, this is inconvenient if I'm crouching down to clean the carpet.On the other hand, the construction feels super sturdy and I'm not worried about the housing breaking or jamming. It's great for my needs, and I'm glad I didn't have to buy an expensive specialty UV light when I'll only be using it occasionally.I haven't tested the battery life, but so far it works fine and charges fast.
