I have a pretty good story to tell about this model as I just got my third - and it will be my last. I bought our first one in September 2012 and used it several times a week. In December 2013 it stopped working completely. When I called the manufacturer they offered me a replacement at a great price so I accepted the offer which came with a one year warranty. After receiving the second block in January 2014, I decided to buy it. Use it more often - almost every day or every other day. This stopped working completely in September. Same problem: the engine just stalled. So now we have a third unit that I don't think will last even a year. As a juicer, it cuts a fine figure for the price. But if juicing is an important part of your lifestyle, you'll have to put up with the unreliability of this device. The electric motor should easily last 4-5 years with only 10-15 minutes of use per day.
