My daughter had developmental diagnostics to get and keep her attention. For toddlers, these adjustments can be challenging as you take into account new people, new environments, and complex demands. When I saw how quickly she showed interest, I wanted to turn her on right away! That's great! The included batteries lasted *maybe* two hours lol. A screwdriver and 3 AA batteries couldn't fix anything! When I replaced the batteries, I saw that the ones that were there weren't a well-known brand (or at least I didn't recognize them). After replacing the batteries they lasted 3 days - so I would say to replace them fairly early. but once you do, they won't deplete as quickly as you move forward. The rotation of a star with lights causes a slight vibration and sound - great for touch input and development! She also has a bit of teething and I've found that she likes to put it on her gums when it works. The first one I ordered was damaged. It appears to have been damaged in transit but the replacement went smoothly and delivery was fast! Absolutely no complaints from me as far as it goes. Life happens and the way it was dealt with was extraordinary. The only downside I have is that it gets warm after about 5-10 minutes of use. So it won't be a toy that I would give her during a car ride, for example, when it would be difficult to take her back when it gets too hot. We usually give it to her for a while and then just check how warm it is and either turn it off or leave it on for a while before returning it. However, she loves it! When she saw me take it out of the box (she was busy at the time and I thought I'd shut up lol) she squealed with delight and frantically grabbed it from across the room lol she knew exactly what it was . She is very possessive when it comes to this wand and will now be one of our great toys for muscle toning and post vaccination calming/distraction. For the price this is a steal. Even if I had to buy one of these every month, that would be stealing. However, I don't think it's built to last. I'd say be prepared to replace *quite* a lot. Maybe not once a month, but if you use it daily like we do, maybe once every 2-3 months.
