I got this tortilla press for chapati/roti. But unfortunately this is not a suitable product for making roti. Some points below: It is too heavy and it takes at least 4 presses to make one tortilla. Chapati needs flour, not oil, so it sticks to surfaces, plastics, or even silicone. - Inefficient as it requires a lot of pressure, the chapati is not thin and needs to be turned 4 times to reach the desired thickness. - PERFECT! for cooking PURIS or anything that needs oil. Brush the surface with a brush/oil and place a small ball of dough in the middle. PURI becomes perfectly round. It might not be that subtle, but it gets the job done - FINALLY! When something needs to be rolled with butter, this press can do the job. It just takes a lot of lube. Use this press for paratan, tortilla or puri. - NOT FOR CHAPATI/ROTI - Didn't want to give a bad review just because it's not made for chapatis!
