I bought these to fill the holes in the pannier bags in my bed as I have a tempered glass cover and dust from gravel roads rolls into my bed through these holes, settling on my cargo and my basic fill bed. Therefore, they must prevent or at least reduce the ingress of dust. They're fairly easy to install and seal with a spray that my dealer installed into the truck bed trim, and they're flat enough to stay out of the way of the decklid mounting rail that overlaps the pillar pockets. If you have a thicker spray-in liner like a Rhino or Line-X liner, you will need to shave/trim it a bit to make it fit.
