This camera was a gift for my 3 year old son. After trying it myself and watching him use it, I came to several conclusions. The good things first: - It feels nice, soft and grippy for kids - It's taken a few drops (and been thrown) and survived with no problems - Comes in a nice box with a lanyard and a 16GB micro SD - Just turn it on and start taking pictures, my son had very little time to study. This is where things broke down for me. The artificial intelligence function has been very successful or not, I would say that it is more of a novelty than a teaching tool for children. For example, he called my miter saw a bicycle. but on the other hand he was surprisingly accurate in the names of the plants. The AI is limited by your Wi-Fi network, so it limits the area you can actively explore with it. You can take photos and identify them later when you're back in Wi-Fi range. An app is required to connect to wifi, it wasn't in the google store and my phone wouldn't let me install from the website for security reasons. . The woman was able to download to her iPhone. The picture quality is not very good. The plant image was one of the best, but all tend to be pixelated and out of focus. For $50 this is great for a kid who wants to take pictures regardless of the quality. AI seems more appropriate for older kids, but I also wonder how much an older kid really needs AI to tell them what things are.
