Review on πŸ§” Honest Amish Extra Grit Beard Wax - Natural and Organic Hair Paste - 2oz - Premium Hair Control Wax by Heather Davis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I like it but we're just friends (for now)

Pros: 1) Price – comparable or lower than many other waxes, although HA has a much better reputation. 2) Smell - I thought I would hate it because of the aniseed, and I can't stand black liquorice. It's hard to explain, but it smells so much better than black liquorice. I compare it to root beer (which I like) rather than black liquorice (which I dislike). Also, there's a hint of spice that softens the anise, so the scent is pleasant to me, at least, and I actually like it more than a lot of my "flavored" beard products. By the way: HA beard oil also has some anise in it, but like this wax, I don't find the smell off-putting. 3) Hold - for me there is a good hold, but not much. I will describe the disadvantages in detail. 4) Texture - HA makes my beard super soft, not super waxy. 5) Rigidity - I've come to the conclusion that I like sand. Period. Cons: 1) Shine - Compared to other waxes, this wax has very little shine (which I knew when I applied it). 2) The commit is HA's strongest commit, and yet it hasn't taken all my tramps away from me. This worries me the most as I don't want to overuse it to get the hold I get with other waxes. BUT - it was a lot easier to apply and smelled a lot nicer than any of my other waxes so a compromise might be a good one. white beard. White beard does not go well with this product. Just a friendly get together for old guys like me.
