I bought this to keep in my camping backpack. Good. Rockclimbing. I bought it to make tea or coffee and didn't take up as much space as a coffee pot or French press. I see many other complaints about this item saying it is cheaply made or someone is having trouble sealing it. First, it is a very inexpensive item. It is so well made that it works without any problems. But. You can check the hinge part and make sure they are pressed against each other. From what I've seen after making 10 cups of coffee with it, if it breaks it's due to operator error. When you unlock and open the latch, do it lightly and make sure the halves open against each other. Wash and rinse lightly, let dry, then close, snap and check the loop. Just in case you need to adjust it. If you drop it or twist or twist the halves against each other, the hinge will open so far that it won't close securely the next time you use it. But all you have to do is snap it in place and press down firmly on the flip part. No rocket science, not hard to do but easy to fix. You just have to be a little conscientious and do a little preventive check and adjustment every now and then. But for the hiker or camper, the low cost, space and weight savings are major benefits if handled with a little care. .
