If you poke a tiny hole to let the air out, that hole gets horribly wider, you need to cut the corner (a little) with scissors, not toothpick holes. Even if you don't get a corner, DO NOT BLOW the air out of the bag unless your surface is clear of any debris as the plastic will heat up and become brittle. Anything can cut through if you press it against a dirty surface, I learned that when the oat felt my soap and it lay on the counter and cut through the plastic while applying heat and patting the air. To seal you have to use hotter settings, my seals ALL WAY Great product, bought 4x4 first, now buy 6x6 Industrial smell? Overall I can't detect this smell and individually I can't smell anything but leave a hole so you can smell your products through the plastic as you can't smell ANYTHING after sealing. Don't know if there has been another batch in the past that got mixed up, my experience is A+, value for your bucks.
