Review on AMD Phenom II X4 940 πŸ’» Black Edition 3.0GHz AM2+ Processor - Retail by Bali (hambali) ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good quality product, I rate this purchase perfectly.

This is certainly not the most powerful and not the most expensive processor, but I do not know such practical tasks at home that would load it 100%, even without any overclocking, although it has a very large overclocking potential, maybe the largest in line and much larger than that of older models, as evidenced by its actual temperature under operating conditions and the maximum allowable temperature. In general, it seems that all Phenom 2s are physically the same, but some copies are overclocked and because of this their maximum operating temperature is artificially reduced and the thermal package is increased - but on the other hand, the status of an older model is assigned, the corresponding marking and a higher price. And if the difference is not visible (during overclocking) - why pay more?) (and it will not be visible). And also, additionally, as a marketing option, the FSB multiplier is blocked or not.)

Pros
  • In my opinion, the most optimal processor from the quad-core Phenom 2 line for a very quiet home multimedia system. It costs not much more than younger models, and differs from older models in a significantly smaller thermal package of 95W versus 125 or 140W and a maximum allowable temperature of 71 degrees versus 62 - i. E. less heat and more resistant to overheating. In idle mode with the Zalman CNPS 9500 AM cooler at minimum speed and no case fans, the processor temperature was only 23 degrees, in medium load mode and under the same conditions of almost silent operation, an average of 33-36 degrees. You can also compare the price with the analogue in performance from Intel - Corei5, which is cheaper than 8000 can not be bought.
Cons
  • Only if a considerable price, I took it for 5623, but it is completely worth the money.
